Consultant & data analyst
Does social media consultancy, data analysis, audience research, project management, digital production. Also enjoys feminism, socialism, animal welfare, ethics, human rights, art, networks, queer theory, evolution, ecology
In my Biology degree, I studied animal communication, human behaviour, evolution and ecology, and it's surprising how much of that is relevant to what I do now. I understand the social web and online communications as part of a digital ecology with a multitude of habitats and species. And all of it creating a wealth of fascinating data ready to analyse.
In my MA in Digital Media, I specialised in curating new media art, and identity politics in online communities. I also did documentary film making for the BBC, and data analysis and user experience consultancy for charities as a freelancer.
During my time on the University of Sussex Web Team, I designed and produced the university's student online community, and built the interiors of the university island on Second Life.
I also wrote a chapter called “Breaking the hierarchy – democratising the institutional web presence” which was published in the book, “Technology supported learning environments – methods and case studies”.
Moving to London as a digital project manager at an integrated agency, I focused on not-for-profit / charity clients, and was promoted to head of social media.
Back in Brighton at NixonMcInnes, I continue to focus on not-for-profit clients and consultancy, lead on data analysis and insights work, and manage multiple digital production projects.
I love...
feminism, queer politics, socialism, animal welfare, data, ecology, good fonts, vector art and evolutionary psychology.
I hate...
disorder and obscurity
