My Starbucks Idea

Coffee is officially addictive. Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse in the world, with over 15,000 outlets across the planet. With such a large consumer base Starbucks have recently launched a website called My Starbucks Idea. Here they encourage their clientele to submit suggestions, vote for their favourite ideas and generally take an active part in shaping the vision of Starbucks via the magic of online. How dynamic of them.

Starbucks are not a techie company; they are by no means diminutive however by utilising the power of the social web in much the same way Dell has with its Ideastorm website or Threadless, the Chicago based t-shirt maker, they are actively and earnestly engaging with their worldwide audience, crowdsourcing their patrons and asking them to be creators. This is a brave and bold move by Starbucks who are setting themselves apart in the marketplace. By doing something different, inviting feedback good or bad, they have made it clear they want to know what their customers think.

With one opening on a street near you probably very soon; Starbucks invites you to get involved and influence the future of coffee and pastries in your town or dare I say it, the world!
