First Friday June 2014 with Brighton Energy Co-op’s Will Cottrell

NixonMcInnes’ next First Friday is happening on 6 June at 5pm.

Brighton Energy Coop is the south’s largest community-funded solar energy scheme. Since 2012, it has raised more than £650,000 from local residents to install 2,000 solar panels on the roofs of local organisations and businesses, saving them £8,000 on energybills in18 months and giving investors a 5% return on their investment. Investors include everyone from MPs, students and professionals to retirees and grandparents.

Will Cottrell, the director, will be with us to explain the benefits of community-funded renewable energy; give the wider energy context and share BEC‘s plans for the future. He’ll also share his personal story and tell us what originally inspired him to set up the project.

There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions. Please join us at NMHQ on Friday 6 June at 5pm. Sign up here.

*First Friday is all about brain food. On the first Friday of every month we ask a speaker to join us for the NM team meeting. We drink beer, we eat crisps and we invite in new ideas, new people and new possibilities.
