First Friday May 2014: hiSbe – a happy supermarket chain for the 21st century

We were very excited here at NM when we heard about hiSbe, a bold new supermarket that opened in Brighton last December. We’ve switched most of our office supermarket online order to the supermarket and next Friday we are delighted to have it’s founders Amy, Ruth and Jack, come and tell us about their journey to get their pilot store open in Brighton.

The store aims to make good, locally sourced and sustainable food more affordable. Shoppers are able to see where the food has come from and how much of the price they pay goes to the producer, the store costs, staff wages and as profit.

Join us to meet the people behind it as they share their story about what inspired them to take on this ambitious venture in the first place, what makes it different and the values behind it, how they raised the funds, how they source their products and much more.

It’s happening at NMHQ on Friday 2 May at 5pm. Sign up!

*First Friday is all about brain food. On the first Friday of every month we ask a speaker to join us for our team meeting. We drink beer, we eat (hiSbe) crisps and we invite in new ideas, new people and new possibilities. You’re invited too!
