Making government reports more engaging

A couple of weeks ago I shared my experience of being on the cross-government digital comms review and our manifesto for digital change.

Since then, the recommendations report that I helped with has fueled a great debate between civil servants about digital in government.

Anthony Simon, Head of Digital Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet Office blogged about how he’ll be taking the actions from the review forward and how people shouldn’t be afraid of bringing a way of communicating that they’re comfortable with in their personal life, into their professional environment.

Given we are saying that things should be different – and that government needs to do fewer lengthy reports that people don’t read and more engaging content – we thought we should lead by example, and I helped my friends in the cabinet office put together this video launching the report.
