A quick and dirty weeknotes this week, on account of being super busy. There may be some duplication below, but this is a flavour of what we worked on.
Max and me had a lovely lunch with Chief Happiness Officer Alex Kjerulf to talk about happiness in the workplace and how we might partner up in some way. Watch this space!
Belinda and I spent time with a new client from one of the UK’s top five law firms to plan a workshop. We’re hoping to use it as part of wider programme to engage small teams to collaborate on new working practices.
I spent time with Pan Macmillan to design a training course around online data insight.
We ated a freakin’ ace lasagne.
Went to the FCO to train some senior people on Twitter, and give them ideas about making what they do online betterer and betterer: <ahem> “Clive’s session was first class. It was informative, interesting and good fun. I am a regular user of twitter, though not as a tweeter, so am familiar with the product. Yet I still learned a lot from the session, particularly around thinking about how the organisationneeds to approach embracing social media. I thought Clive pitched the session just right: good, clear language, mostly jargon free. He got us all thinking and kept us all engaged.”
Designed an innovation workshop with Jenni for a major publisher.
Installed the new digital happy buttons (thanks to Matthew Edwards of Build Brighton for helping)
Went to a Melcrum event on internal comms and a Chartered Institute of Marketing Dinner. Then on to an event of the Levitt Group (chartered marketers and fellows). Now thoroughly networked out with a notebookull of fab ideas. Top highlights were Phil Jones from Excitant talking about the need to socialise the corporate strategy and Jane Sparrow, author of The Culture Builders, talking about leadership strategies for employee performance. Work wise have been catching up with a range of clients and kicking off a new multi-territory social strategy reaching out to a global IT provider’s channel partners.
Went to train the trainer workshop which was excellent. I’ve been preparing some training for a client next week packing it full of the good stuff I learned.
Presented a trends briefing to a publishing client with Anna, encouraging discussion around emerged markets, the shift to city living and information overload.
There you have it – have lovely weekends everyone
