Weeknotes 2/11/12

Weeknotes comes to you this week from our room in The Skiff, the coworking space some of us are working from over the next two weeks while we wait for our new office to be ready.

This is our first week of working like hobos; working between the Skiff, various homes, cafes and bars, and it’s been an interesting one. A lot of us are finding it harder than we envisaged, mainly because of the sudden difficulty of all little things we take for granted, such as getting together for meetings, making conference calls, easy access to printers etc etc. Just means we’ll appreciate our new home all the more.

The office team of Leesa, Clive, Jenni and myself (and occasionally others we’ve managed to rope in) have been on the site of the new office every day (picture above from today), negotiating with builders, making important decisions about carpets, glass partitions and door handles, moving furniture and most importantly, keeping the builders in donuts.

And other, actual work? Let’s see…

Max shadowed the Assistance Desk Officers at the Foreign Office – spending a day experiencing how they deal with incidents involving Brits abroad. This is part of an ongoing customer service project we’re working on.

Ross and I delivered a trends briefing to the multi-platform commissioning team at Channel 4. Ross is doing a bit of a roadshow of these briefings so if you’re a client and you’re interested, get in touch.

Ross also met with Conversocial, to have a look at their social customer service platform.

Will spoke at the B2B Marketing Conference on Thursday.

Will and I had a couple of chemistry meetings with potential new clients. We’re really excited about both.

Also this video of Will speaking at the Wired Sussex Home Brewed event about his book Culture Shock has popped up on the internets.

Jenni designed a workshop to help a client define how to rationalise their sprawling social presences.

Jenni also continued to support our publishing client’s innovation pilot programme, meeting with pilot owners to offer advice.

Clive has been designing a training course for a PR agency so they can more deeply understand social media, and the way to plan and and measure it with their clients.

A few of us had lunch with a potential new colleague… watch this space.

Bruce created some interactive wireframes and designs for a fun little Christmas Facebook campaign for a communications client.

Steve is now back at work after two weeks off recovering after an operation on his partially dislocated shoulder. We’ve missed him!

Have a great weekend :)
