I live in Brighton and NixonMcInnes is based close to the Brighton Pier.
Each and everyday I take a wander along the seafront and today was by no means an exception.
Even though a storm appeared to be in full swing, the rain and the wind didn’t put me off in the slightest. Gusts of wind pushed me back but I kept on walking toward the seafront and when I got there, an amazing spectacle of nature was taking place: massive waves were breaking below the Brighton Pier.
The wind was so strong that the raindrops at stung as they hit my face – not something that often happens! I even had to hide behind a box to be able to capture this event on film. Check it out here on youtube.
Once I’d had enough of the wind, I returned to the office to share my achievement with the team. After doing so, Matt recommended I should upload the video to “BBC Your news, your pictures” - and that’s exactly what I did.
To my surprise, an hour later they called to get further details from me and to ask my permission to broadcast the video as part of a news article on tonight’s BBC News 24.
In addition to this, they also asked if I wouldn’t mind being interviewed on BBC Radio this evening to talk about the storms – of which I am more than happy to.
I’m impressed at how fast the BBC was to pick up and respond to an action as simple as sending a short video clip.
Look forward to seeing my video broadcast!

We’d better be careful or we’ll start to get a reputation for being the BBC love blog.
If someone is doing their job right I guess they deserve to be complimented. A little love never hurt anyone.
Cool, nice one Telmo! Did you do the interview then?
They didn’t call that evening but it was nice of them to ask.
I’d like to be interviewed. Its really good to contribute.
